Paranormal Activity Investigators are based out of the Kansas City Metro area. We have been actively investigating as a team since 2003, making us one of the longest continuously active teams in the Midwest.

Our team seeks out allegedly haunted locations to assist those experiencing what may be paranormal. We also research ghost stories, urban legends, sightings and conduct investigations and experiments into any potential paranormal activity.

We look for authentic evidence of the paranormal to determine if a location is haunted. We seek genuine evidence and are careful about presenting it, ensuring that it is legitimate, researched, and analyzed before being presented to the general public.

Our research will document hard environmental data and consider any human experiences. We uphold the requested confidentiality of all of our clients and treat each location with respect.

American Hauntings - More than 25 Years of Experiences!

Author Troy Taylor and the staff from American Hauntings have been taking guests behind the walls of haunted locations since 1993 with one simple approach — ghost hunts without all of the clutter. Our investigations are not overcrowded meet-and-greets with so-called celebrities but an authentic opportunity to let our guests experience the unexplained.
PAI's Becky Ray hosts several locations in the Kansas City area.  Visit American Hauntings for more information.
Ghost hunts. No hype. No distractions. Just the paranormal.

Join us at the 1859 Jail this October!

Throughout October, the Jackson Co. Historical Society and Paranormal Activity Investigators are hosting Ghost Tours and Investigations at the 1859 Jail Museum!
There are three different types of events throughout the month that people can choose from:
TOURS: JCHS and Paranormal Activity Investigators will lead guests on guided tours of the historical 1859 Jail Museum in Independence, Missouri. Guests will hear of the history and all the ghostly tales and apparitions inside the building! If you're looking for an investigation-style hunt, please see our other events in the month of October.
GHOST TOUR + MINI INVESTIGATION: JCHS and Paranormal Activity Investigators will lead guests on a 1-hour ghost tour through the incredibly haunted 1859 Jail Museum, sharing all the stories of the ghostly encounters and apparitions that lurk in the halls. Following the tour, Paranormal Activity Investigators will divide the guests into smaller groups and lead them on a mini ghost hunt to try and interact with the spirits of the building!
PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION: JCHS and Paranormal Activity Investigators will take guests on a quick guided history/ghost tour of the jail. Once the tour is complete, the lights will turn off, and the ghost hunting will begin! Paranormal Activity Investigators will have their paranormal equipment and show you what a paranormal investigation is really like! We will break guests into smaller groups to investigate the Jail, schoolhouse, and the attached jailer's home and marshal's office! This event will be for over adults 18+ only, and please remember that this is a museum filled with priceless artifacts, so guests are expected to be respectful of the location. No food or drink will be permitted.
NOTE: Please wear comfortable walking shoes as we will be on our feet most of the night. Feel free to bring cameras for pictures, video, or live streaming. Also, feel free to bring your paranormal equipment. Our location is not ADA compliant and is not appropriate for children. These events sell out fast, so don't miss out!

American Hauntings Events

Author Troy Taylor and the staff from American Hauntings have been taking guests behind the walls of haunted locations since 1993 with one simple approach — ghost hunts without all of the clutter. Our investigations are not overcrowded “meet-and-greets” with so-called “celebrities” but an authentic opportunity to let our guests experience the unexplained.  We're not going to waste your time with autograph sessions and that kind of nonsense. And we're not going to make posters to show you how "cool" we are or pose for photos in matching black t-shirts that are a size too small. Instead, we're going to offer you the chance to actually investigate a location for possible evidence of lingering spirits!

If you’re interested in a real ghost hunt without all the distractions, then these are the events for you.
