Investigators Notes

Christina Anderson:I am so very thankful to have gotten the opportunity to investigate this location! It is truly an incredible place, and if you have an opportunity to check it out on one of the history tours, I highly recommend it! This prison is an overwhelming place. I was able to take a few pictures inside of one of the housing units, my camera began to malfunction and I decided to focus on audio instead of fighting it all night. We started out in housing unit 4, which was the oldest one on the premises. We then moved into the women's unit, where I kept seeing something out of the corner of my eye. Jennifer also mentioned that she thought she saw a shadow move in the direction of the blind cells. None of the group was in that part of the unit at that time. Our next building was the one that housed death row. While standing in front of cell 27, I heard a very loud sigh or exhaling sound. It seemed like it was right next to me. Although nobody else in the group heard it, it is audible on audio. I am not 100% convinced that it was paranormal, but I will post it in the EVP section later for review. We then went to the Gas Chamber. The walk is very long, and there were a lot of places we stopped on the way down. As we were standing by the textile mill, the chain link fence above us rattled loudly, as though someone was trying to climb it. There were no people nearby. To be fair, we spotted feral cats on the grounds shortly before and it could very well have been one of them, but nothing was visible that could have caused that noise. When we reached the gas chamber, we took turns sitting inside of it, as well as sitting in both observation areas. It was a very sobering moment, taking in the gravity of what had taken place in there, knowing that over forty people had been put to death inside that building. As we walked back up to the main housing unit, a light in a building that nobody had access to was turned on. It had been dark when we walked down. Jennifer and I conducted EVP sessions in the main housing unit, and I am still reviewing audio. I will post any findings soon. Overall, this was a great place to visit, and I would love to return someday.

Becky Ray:We went to this location as part of a tour group, and historically this is an amazing location! I would like to go back some time when we'd have the grounds to ourselves for further research. No notable Class A evp was recorded at this time.

Jennifer Sprague:This was a very amazing place! This was more of a tour than a full investigation although we did bring some equipment. I brought a flashlight, my audio recorder and a disposable camera. Although I do not believe that I had any personal experiences there, I do believe I may have caught some e.v.p.s and I hope to post them soon. I did recordings along Death Row Hall as well as The Gas Chamber and am currently reviewing audio on them as well. There were a few cells in Hall 4 that had reported paranormal activity there and Christina and I did an evp session in those and she is currently reviewing her audio for that. The history of this place was amazing and I felt very privileged to have been able to go. I do look forward to going back soon!
