Question: When did the phenomena start?

Answer: Started noticing it about three years ago.

 

Question: Any certain hour of the day or certain rooms?

Answer: No, could be at any time.

 

Question: Any visual apparations?

Answer: Yes

 

Question: How do the visual apparitions appear?

Answer: First time it was a dark silhouette on the couch in the lobby. The second time was this past June when a foggy apparition appeared in the rear salon area.

 

Question: Have there been any movements of objects that you see?

Answer: Yes, a bottle of hair spray flew across the room.

 

Question: Any sounds?

Answer: Noises, pounding on the walls and basement door. Voices have been heard.

 

Question: Any rappings or knockings?

Answer: Sounds as if someone is knocking on the basement door, other strange knockings.

 

Question: Any voices? What do they say?

Answer: Unclear

 

Question: Any cold spots?

Answer: Yes

 

Question: Any touches or caresses?

Answer: An electrician working in the basement was touched on the shoulder after hearing breathing.

Answer: Unusual smells

Question: How far back can you trace the history of the property?

Answer: Originally a house when it was built 130 years ago. It has been other businesses including a watchmaker in 1920.

 

Question: Have there been any deaths or violent occurances in the the property?

Investigators Notes

Kevin Glasow:This was an active investigation! Through the night I used my digial camera and digital audio recorder and Becky's Cell Sensor. The first experience that we had was concerning the wooden door at the front of the Salon. We were recieving odd EMF readings from it over and extended period of time which seemed to fluctuate greatly. All though some of this was explained by a metal pin in the door there were still points when the EMF dector would jump from flat line to ~10.0 when it was unmoved. Sarah and I made a walkthrough of the basement, which did debunk some of the other readings we found in the main room. We also proved that people on the first floor and vice virca and hear anyone in the basement easily. During an attempt to capture EVPs we had one very odd experience. When someone [Sarah, I believe] asked for a sign knocking began from the floor above us. It continued for some time and on request became louder and faster. When we stopped to debunk it the noise seemed to end, though it started again when we became quiet it started again and continued for some time. All employees confirmed they had never heard that noise before. From there we continued to the basement, where we spent most of the investigation. Experiences were frequent and varied. Members [only female] felt physical contact while down there as if something was playing with their hair [might have been cobwebs, however]. Miranda saw a orange light across the room from us, in examination there was nothing to make that kind of reflection in that color/shape. Shortly after I heard a womans voice whisper something, though no one was talking at that point. There was a contested issue over if two of the chairs had moved since our first walkthrough of the basement as they were facing each other seeming out of place. Though the movement was disproven by Junior's video, we tried provoking the spirit while sitting in the chairs. Sarah became almost ill right after insulting the ghost. When Jr. sat in the same chair he felt something on the back of his head. During that period we found high EMF readings behind him. Other experiences continued, including hear movement/voices upstairs when no one was there.

 

Becky Ray:On this investigation I used a 35mm still camera, IR video camera, thermometers, and occasionally EMF meters.
This was definitely an eventful night! Several times during the investigation I heard what sounded like footsteps and objects being moved upstairs, however at no time was anyone up there. The most exciting part of the night was when we were attempting to obtain EVPs and an odd knocking sound began. Both the business owner and manager confirmed that this was something they had never heard before.
We have already scheduled a follow up, and are looking forward to investigating this building further!

 

Sarah Schroeder:Wow! What an amazing place and an amazing time that we had! I used a digital 35mm camera on this investigation and Becky Ray's Olympus Pearlcorder S711 microcassette once again. I did not find anything of note just yet on my digital images, and I am still reviewing my audio. We started off the night with a wonderful tour complete with narrative history of the haunting history from the manager Tim of Salon Medusa. After doing an EMF sweep, we found that the front door was particulary active in a spot but later found that it was due to a small metal piece in the door. After investigating the front part of the salon, we moved to the middle of the salon. We decided to try some EVP work and found that there was a plethora of unexplained knocking sounds that came during this time. Nothing seemed to have caused the knocking sounds and they abruptly would stop and start regardless of the wind outside etc. Afterwards, we moved to the basement. Miranda had an interesting discovery as she saw a bright orange glowing orb. Near 15 minutes later, as I was standing in the basement, I felt something moving my hair about on the top. Knowing there were several cobwebs near by, I was scared there was a spider in my hair but the other team members could not find any and given my extremely short stature, I was not even tall enough to have my hair touch a cobweb nor a beam of wood in the basement. Kevin and I decided to sit in two of the salon chairs in the basement and try to provoke the spirit to elicit activity. I began to call out the spirit, and mistakingly called it a chicken complete with bawking sounds. (I must say, that was a foolish act, I dont reccommend it, and never will I do it again). Within seconds, I saw stars, my vision went blurry, I immediately became nauseous and nearly vomited and I just didnt feel right. I quickly rose from the chair and I felt normal once again. (And needless to say, no more taunting after that moment occurred LOL) Junior sat in the chair I had occupied and he as well experienced sensations. EMF showed a reading of between 2-8 behind his neck where he felt stroking. All EMF readings near other locations of his back were normal. However, later in the night it was found that a nearby copper pipe could have influenced these readings. The Salon Medusa proved to be a quite interesting location to which I am quite excited to once again visit in the near future. I plan to have products of my investigation loaded on the site soon!

 

Miranda Stark:Very interesting location. Great accounts of activity, from employees, customers, and visitors. The investigation went quite well. We were able to discover an area of high EM's near an electronic "doorbell" device on the front door in the lobby. We had a great surprise during an EVP session, when investigator Sarah suggested aloud for the "entity" to make contact by producing some form of noise. This request was followed by audible knocking sounds coming from the far right corner of the room near the ceiling. Sarah then asked for this "entity" to make the knocking sounds louder, and immediately upon request, the sound level increased with louder knockings. This was essentially the end of our contact with this presence, as no more noises were heard beyond this point. There was a moment in the basement where I, personally, witnessed an orange, or yellowish glowing sphere move quickly across the back wall, which was not witnessed by any other fellow investigators, and not captured on film, so I am not sure that what I saw has any credibility whatsoever. I reviewed my photographs, and found nothing out of the ordinary, and my audio was also clean.

Junior Szudarski:This would have to be one of the landmark investigations I have got to do and can not wait until the follow up. I used both audio recorders ( Olympus digital and Sony digital) and the palmcorder with night vision. I have several EVP's off of the Sony recorder that will be posted soon and am getting ready to review the audio off of the olympus. The video I am still reviewing as well. On a personal note, this is the first "official" investigation that I have gone on where I have felt prolonge, unexplainable physical contact. Many thanks to the Staff for having us out.
