Investigators Notes

Becky Ray:This investigation was a part of the Kansas City AGS chapter meeting and overnight. While there were many people present it was nice, but made it difficult to be certain what noises, etc were from people present. It was very interesting, however, and I'm curious to see what EVP or video anyone captured that can't be explained.
I took several photos when events would happen during the night, but found nothing out of the ordinary in any photos.
I am looking forward to returning to this location to conduct an investigation under more controlled circumstances.

Jennifer Sprague:On this investigation I took some notes and had a 35mm camera. The presentation was a very nice one given and enjoyed hearing the various places in Excelsior Springs that were reportedly haunted. There were a few interesting occurences that happened, in the Grand Ball Room all of experienced some inexplainable variation in the lighting. Upon entering the ballroom there were no lights on and upon asking questions and doing some evp work we noticed that some of the dimmer lights and chandelier lights slowly came on. I had thought that it could possibly be a shortage somewhere or that perhaps the light switches to the lights were not turned off all the way, upon checking the light switches it was found that all of them were completely off. I also contacted the engineer and asked him questions on if there were any shortages in the lights in that room or if there were problems with the electricity and he said no, I thought that was interesting to note, I can not find any other plausible reason why those lights would flicker on like that. The other experience that I had was audible and that was the noise of a 40's song I heard playing while we were in the boardroom upstairs, that music was not playing anywhere else during that time, others reported some audible noices too that could not be explained. The other experience came in the pool room downstairs, we were able to debunk some water currents that could be seen as inexplainable 'waves' to some people, I did not experience anything personally down there, but Junior did and reported an pretty good size wave coming towards him in the opposite direction of the other current, we were not able to figure out a specific reason for that. I thought that was interesting to note, although I did not personally witness his experience. I look forward to going back!
No EVPS for this Investigation at this time
PHOTOS
We were told that a young boy drown in this lap pool in 1989. I have not verified that information, however as we sat vigil near the pool, Junior called to the boy. As soon as he did this, several of us saw a wake move towards Junior in the water. I did not capture that, however you can see how still the water is normally.
t has been reported that the figure of a man was seen sitting in this chair. However, if the lights are off the shape of the chair gives the illusion that someone is sitting in it. I sat for a while in the chair and experienced nothing out of the ordinary.
This is just an example of how high reflective almost every surface is. This can cause orbs and other anomalies in photographs.
