Kelli Patrick:Equipment used: laser thermometer, 35mm camera. Well, we went back again for a busy fun filled night of ghosts! Becky and I were in the same group, so she had summed up the night and saw what I saw. When we were seeing "Timothy", the little boy ghost, he was a little shadow standing right in front of our fearless team member, Marty. All of a sudden, Timothy was gone and standing in front of Becky and next to Jonathan. I only saw Jonathan's flashlight move up out of his holster and then it swung back down into the holster by itself. Jonathan's hands were full of other equipment, so he wasn't moving it and no one else was either. It moved by itself. Then I saw a quick flash and saw Timothy take off down the hall. The eye doctor who was with us was standing next to me when we were on the 4th floor. After seeing plenty of shadow people down the hall, we both felt something brush our pant legs a couple of times. I looked down and could see my pantleg move like something was touching it. Supposedly, there was a homeless man and his white shepard that died in the area that we were in. There was a smell of smoke (cigarette) at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor. This is where Mrs. Clark has been seen or smelled (she smoked cigarettes). A person in our group left a cigarette on the ground to see if it would vanish, but we went back and it was still there. Tons of shadowpeople, but the disembodied pairs of eyes in the cafeteria hallway were incredible!!!!!! Can't wait to go back. My 35mm film is being examined and will update the results soon.
Becky Ray:Wow. What a night! We got quite lucky and had about half of the same team from last year, so there was good energy going in. Earlier in the day a few people had reported seeing apparitions during the daylight tours, and the "traditional" haunted house had just opened for the season, so the building seemed to want to get someone's attention. We were definitely hoping it would be ours!
We started in the cafeteria and then moved outside to the hallway between the cafeteria and the kitchen. Within seconds of positioning myself next to the wall, the shadow people began to appear. Not just appear, our local guide Jonathan was next to me and I realized that he was moving backwards almost as quickly as I was while we watched a large shadow person practically RUN towards us up the hallway. Several of the other people in our group hadn't even set up yet! We remained in that hallway and witnessed many more shadow people, red and green pin points of lights that danced around, a few "sparklers," and then we saw "eyes." Two sets of glowing eyes. Not like you see in horror movies where there are just pin points like animal eyes reflecting light back at you, but these were eyeballs. The whites of the eyes were clear! One of the men in our group is an optomotrist, and he immediately said, "No mistake, those are eyes!" They were at eye height, blinked, moved side to side slightly, remained there while people took photos, then vanished. We inspected the area, and there was nothing to reflect. We were on the second floor, and nothing shining in from outside would have hit that location, and not a single one of us could explain the blinking or movement. About the time I was starting to convince myself I hadn't actually seen this, a pinkish/red glow appeared on the right side of the hallway, then it changed to a greenish color, and then the eyes were back in the doorway to the cafeteria on the left hand side! I was disappointed and relieved it was time to move on to the next location.
Next we went to the body chute where we heard odd noises and voices off and on, then we returned to the main building and the third floor.
During last year's visit, the third floor was extremely active for us, and it was no different this year. MESA from Indiana (http://www.mesaproject.com) had equipment set up to take readings on part of the third floor, so we stayed at the other end. One of the local Louisville members who had been with the MESA group walked by and mentioned to Jonathan that "Timothy" had been seen by more than one person on the third floor earlier. During our visit and investigation in 2004, Jonathan and Rhonda captured "Timothy" in a photo with me although I did not see him. This year was different.
While we were on the third floor, one of the members of our group was brave enough to walk alone down the hallway while we watched until we could no longer see him, and then turn around and walk slowly back towards us. Each time he did this, different shadow people walked back either behind or beside him. He said he felt their presence, and we could clearly see their outlines. At one point as he got to where we could not see him, he said someone was tugging on the bottom of his shirt. Since we had been told that "Timothy" had been seen on this floor, Jonathan began talking to him to see if this was who was doing the tugging. A child sized shadow began to peek at us from behind the member alone down the hallway. As we watched him slowly peeking at us, Jonathan talked to him, and asked him to make some noise, or play with him. "Timothy" must have taken him seriously, because I didn't even see him move. The next thing I knew, there was a boy standing directly in front of me, so close we brushed up against each other. The boy was as solid as everyone else, but all I could see was his hair and that he was looking at Jonathan. I couldn't get my mind around what was happening and I began saying "oh my god," over and over and moving backwards VERY fast and covered my eyes. One of the other members of our group took a photo, and then he was gone! Several people witnessed this, although almost everyone saw him differently. Jonathan didn't see anything but hair, but he felt his flashlight move. One of the other members who had never been on anything paranormal before, saw the boy move from in front of us to Jonathan, and then run when the camera flashed. Some saw lights moving, or saw some sort of movement. And then one or two just saw all of us react at the exact same time and saw nothing else.
Also on the third floor, we had a couple of other interesting experiences. While watching a shadow person move in the hallway, Rhonda pointed her green laser pointer at it. When Jonathan asked the shadow person if we could see it, the green glow from the laser pointer illuminated a definite shape of a man walking towards us! The legs and arms were clear as can be in their stride, and about halfway up the hallway and getting closer! When it disappeared and we lit the hallway with flashlights, there was nothing there that the laser pointer could have been reflecting off of.
