Sarah, Ainsling, Christina, Julie, Becky, Greg, Jennifer 1/31 VIDEOS LOCATION HISTORY The Farrar Schoolhouse started in 1919 when a local man named C.G. Geddes agreed to donate six acres of his farm for a new school that would merge all of the area's rural, one-room schoolhouses under one roof as the Washington Township Consolidated School District. The cornerstone of the building was laid in 1921, and the school was dedicated a year later on April 1, 1922. A grand celebration with food and live music was held, and hundreds attended from all over the countryside -- although not all were pleased with the new building and its $100,000 price tag. Farrar was built to consolidate five small country schoolhouses from the surrounding area. It had electricity, modern plumbing, and boiler heating. It was considered by many locals to be a decadent use of public funds costing over a million dollars. One disgruntled citizen refused to attend the celebration calling it a "monument to the arrogance and vanity of the school board," with its boiler heating, electric lights, and indoor bathroom facilities. The school operated for many years, although enrollment steadily declined with the shrinking of the nearby towns. The town of Farrar was eventually absorbed into Maxwell, Iowa, and a decision was made to close down the school. On May 3, 2002, another grand banquet was held in honor of the school and its alums, and the schoolhouse closed its doors for the last time. The old school sat empty until December 2006, when Jim and Nancy Oliver purchased the building. It became their home with hopes of slowly restoring the school to its original appearance and layout. But they soon found out they were not in the schoolhouse alone. They soon discovered what decades of students and employees already knew — that the school was haunted. There were longtime reports of mysterious voices, slamming doors, phantom footsteps, and shadowy figures that appeared in the hallways and stairwells that inexplicably vanished. At first, the Olivers dismissed the strange happenings, but they soon became too eerie to ignore. One day, Nancy became unsteady on some stairs and felt a solid hand on her shoulder that helped her catch her balance. She turned to thank her husband for help -- to find no one there! Since that time, the Olivers -- and others -- have had many other weird experiences. Visitors have told many strange stories about the school, including disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, knocking, tapping, ringing sounds, cries, yells, laughter, and even sightings of full-blown apparitions. Investigators Notes Jennifer, Lead Investigator: We decided to try an old-school vs. new-school method of investigation for this investigation. The idea was to see if we could note any differences using these two methodologies. We set up various strings of bells on the first floor and put them in front of doorways and on doorknobs. We also set up cameras and motion detectors. We set up motion-activated toys and streamers in the gym to catch any unique airflow. We also attempted automatic writing. Automatic writing, also called psychography, is a claimed “psychic ability” allowing a person to produce written words without consciously writing, which made it interesting because none of our members who participated consider themselves to have any psychic abilities. Jennifer was curious to see if playing a tornado siren would trigger any unexplained movement, so we reenacted a tornado drill. Times of Interest: Pre-Investigation: A motion-activated toy lit up in the gym unexpectedly, and we could not recreate a reason why. Julie reported hearing a dragging noise upon entering the building. Noon/Gym: Several of us heard footsteps, bells ringing, and whispers but could not explain where they were coming from or what was causing the activity. Note: Reviewing our video of the bells we set up did not show them moving or making any sounds. When Jennifer walked out of the boiler room, the streamers in the gym fluttered wildly. We tried several times to recreate this but could not get the streamers to move the same way. 12:15 PM - 1st Floor Mrs. Martin’s Room: When Mrs. Martin’s name was mentioned, Julie, Greg, and Becky’s EMF meters would trigger without explanation. We found nothing in the room that would trigger them to react like that. While our meters were responding to “Mrs. Martin,” Jennifer attempted the tornado drill, immediately stopping all of the meter activity. They did not trigger again while we were in that room. 12:40 PM - Multiple members heard the motion detector in the hallway go off. Sarah reported seeing the pyramid hanging from the ceiling spin. We could not find a cause for this, and the room had no open windows. 12:44 PM - Multiple members heard footsteps walking around upstairs during this time. 1:05 PM – We moved to the 3rd floor and Auditorium, where motion-activated toys near the stage unexplainably lit up. Ainsling reported feeling uneasy near the stage, and Greg reported hearing footsteps. Several of us heard what sounded like footsteps coming up the stairs, but no one was there. Automatic Writing Results: Becky, Christina, Sarah, and Ainsling, volunteered to try automatic writing and split into two groups and headed to different rooms. Everyone who was blindfolded reported the urge to scribble things and feeling childlike. Interesting to note that two investigators wrote the name MIKE. Other reports during the investigation : Several members had to change batteries frequently. We did find a possible explanation for some of the shadow figures seen. While sitting on the stairs where the shadow man had been reported on the 3rd floor, Sarah told Greg that depending on how he moved in the hallway, he would cast an odd shadow on the wall. We discovered that the boiler room has a very high EMF level, which may explain some people’s anxiety while in there. Long-term exposure to high EMF has been shown to cause hallucinations. While Becky was observing Christina, as she attempted automatic writing, she discovered a spot in the room with a very strong urine/foul odor. She then realized it was coming from a raccoon’s nest on top of the wall cabinet. Had we been investigating in the dark, we may have mistakenly recorded this odor as paranormal. Other important notes: Sound travels very well throughout the building, and this may affect recordings. Overall, it was an interesting investigation for our first time there. We thank the owners for their hospitality and Ainsling for joining us.

I was awaken to someone sitting or laying on top of me. That and I experienced one of my legs being bounced up and down on the bed ... I had no control of my leg at the time. Kelli Patrick:Equipment used: Sony Nightshot video camera, EMF detector, laser thermometer, 35mm camera. I set up the camera in the "Lavender Room". In this room, there is the sitting room, bedroom area and bathroom. The video camera was set up in the sitting room facing the bedroom. Throughout the night, Becky and I were awakened by noises. She heard a female voice talking, but couldn't hear what she was saying. I didn't hear that, but I did hear a sigh twice in a row around 3:10am. At 2am, I woke up because something ran into my side of the bed. No one was there, but I felt a hit on that side. Throughout the night, we would hear banging noises in the room, but didn't see any shadows or apparitions. During the rest of the investigation, I didn't see anything, but our EMF detector kept going off around the couch in the William Lemp room. We tried to rule out an normal causes, but couldn't. In the Charles Lemp room around 11pm, I got a heaviness like someone was pushing down on my neck and shoulders. We left the room and came back about 15 minutes later. The heaviness was gone. I am still in the process of reviewing my video and get my film processed. I will update the notes when I am done. Becky Ray:I love this place! We started our investigation in the William Lemp, Jr. Suite and almost immediately got some results. Our meters all picked up activity around the couch, and nearly everyone felt temperature changes in the room although our thermometers didn't always detect changes. I followed a "cold spot" around the middle of the room as it changed locations and finally vanished as well. In the Charles Lemp room the temperature never cooled down the entire time we were in the mansion. I was to stay in that room and I had the fan running the entire time, but that room remained ten to fifteen degrees warmer than the rest of the mansion at all times. There was a heaviness in the room that almost was oppressive was well. Miranda and I both took strange EMF readings in the room that moved from one end of the piano to the other, across the room, to the bed, and back to the piano. There would be activity one minute, and nothing the next. Due to the heat I spent the night in the Lavender Suite with Kelli. Sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. I was awakened by a female voice talking in a normal tone. It sounded as if the voice were coming from the bottom of the stairs. This voice was not anyone I knew and was definitely not one of our investigators. No one else was in the mansion. This woman's voice was eloquent and fluid, not the sort of voice you'd expect to hear coming from someone outside on the street at that hour. As usual, I can't wait to return! Miranda Stark:Upon arrival we were given a tour, to become aquainted with the layout of the house. We each decided which rooms we would be staying in overnight. After the staff left for the evening, we decided to set up for the investigation and placed video cameras in certain areas. We spent time in each room, observing feelings in the atmosphere, watching for fluctuations in meter readings and temperature, and collecting photgraphs and audio recordings. In one room we were all sitting casually, and I decided to take some photographs. I was able to see an "orb" on my digital camera, just above Kelli's head where she sat on the couch beside Becky. I decided to take my EMF meter over to that area, to look for any energy fields that may have caused the "orb". Sure enough the EMF reading spiked from a normal room-level 0.3 to a 4.0 in certain places around this couch. The readings dropped when approaching the wall, which ruled out the possibilty of inner-wall electrical wiring causing the anomalous field. The energy even seemed to "move about" yet always remained in the vicinity just around the couch on that side of the room. A similar thing happened in another room where an old piano seemed to be the focal point for alot of energy. I also got a photo of "orbs" around this piano, as my EMF meter did locate spikes in the area, and Becky's cell-sensor did as well. There was also another anomalous object in one of my photos in this very room, as I followed Becky taking photos as she located areas of intense energies. I experienced no physical phenomena during the night. Previous Investigations at this Location Lemp Mansion - Visit 1, 17th June, 2004 No EVPS for this Investigation at this time PHOTOS Attic - 05:40 PM This is the area and window that the urban legends of the "monkey-faced" boy claim he played. Answer: house is 18 years old Investigators Notes Kelli Patrick:The purple room was very sad. I walked in the room and felt something was pushing down (heaviness)on me from above. I also had the extreme feeling of wanting to cry. Several EMF detectors were constantly going off. When we left the room, we all felt a lot better. Becky Ray:This was a tough investigation for me. While I was in this home I developed the worst migraine I'd had in a long time. My hypothesis on this is something I felt while we were there. Our EMF meters were almost constantly going off. While this may mean paranormal activity, to be that constant, and everywhere, makes me think there are major electrical leaks all over the place. The home is majorly wired and they have four full breaker boxes and still blow fuses. The reason EMF detectors were invented was to show when the levels of exposure were unhealthy. Chronic exposure to anything over 2.5 mG may put a person at risk for health problems. That house was almost always over that and in some cases, WAY over that. I bring this up because I think it is important to note this since it could be the cause of the batteries that failed, and any visual light flashes we may have seen. Having said that, I do think the spirit father was there off and on that night, and I'm not sure what the heck was going on in the purple room, but it was very active. The EVP I recorded by accident on the stairway haunts me. I really feel the need to find out who the woman involved is/was. EVPS Shouting Male - 3rd April, 2004 - Private Residence - Leawood, KS 00:00 / 00:00 About a half hour into my recording of the home owners describing occurances at their home, I discovered this recording. It seems to be some male yelling in the background, while no one in the home that night ever yelled anything more than one of the other investigators names. Recorded on analog microcassette. Submitted by Becky Shouting Male Amplified - 3rd April, 2004 - Private Residence - Leawood, KS 00:00 / 00:00 *CONTAINS PROFANITY* Bryan attempted to clean EVP Becky called Shouting Male. He removed 90-95% of the homeowners voice from the clip so that you can focus on the actual EVP. Bryan believes the VOICE appears to be part of a violent argment that seems to says the following: "Give my daughter back to me. *Slap and Woman gasps* Martha . Ain't Funny Little Girl. F*ck her up. F*ck...". Note that in the late loop of the E.V.P. the word Ain't was replaced with a whistle, that was in result of the filter. It appears there are two males involved in this E.V.P. and at least one female (not counting the little girl). Becky recorded this E.V.P. on the stairs that lead to the top floor of the home. The name Martha is pretty much a guess, though the name is similar to it, if not it. Is Anybody There - 08:11 PM - 3rd April, 2004 - Private Residence - Leawood, KS 00:00 / 00:00 Bryan and Becky were in the office/library room of the home during this recording while other members of the team were still in the Master Bedroom. You will hear Becky give her thoughts on the feel of the room and then Bryan will do the same. You will hear the husband of the home mention orbs found in another portion of the home, Bryan will then say that he's gonna go back upstairs. Bryan will then leave the office/library and approach the stairs to go back up to the top floor of the home. You will then hear the EVP sigh or inhale and say "Is anybody there." There are deaths associated with the large elevator shaft. At least one man was shot and killed here during prohibition. Investigators Notes Bryan Kaplan:per usual, some feelings of being watched. Though it didn't feel as active as it was on previous visits. Hugh McLenaghan:Strange noises were heard during this investigation, none of which could be easily explained. Also during our time on the bridge it moved quite a bit, even a little when we turned on our flashlights. Pretty cool stuff! Becky Ray:For me, this investigation was similar our first two visits. I didn't get the feeling I had on the third. While we were on the fourth floor we heard strange footsteps near the working elevator, and a couple of investigators reported a feeling of "presence" with us. In just about every location in the building we went to, someone, if not all of us, experienced temperature changes. These changes were recordable from 3 to 5 degree differences. We had been told of an old medical table in storage on the fourth floor that will cause a compass to "spin." I brought my compass and magnetic field viewer card along to test this out. While my compass did not "spin," it did point in different locations depending on what part of the table I placed it on. I felt this was probably caused by the table becoming magnetized since it was made of metal. I placed my magenetic field viewer on each section and discovered that, for whatever reason, this table was highly magnetized. We ended the investigation by returning to the bridge. I suggested that we all sit close together rather than a foot or two apart, but that didn't seem to change the results. I also placed my motion activated camera under the bridge, so if anyone or anthing was moving under there it should have captured it. Although the bridge did shake violently at times, my motion detector never went off. Previous Investigations at this Location The Catacombs Haunted House - Visit 3, 25th February, 2006 The Catacombs Haunted House - Visit 2, 28th January, 2006 The Catacombs Haunted House - Visit 1, 7th January, 2006 No EVPS for this Investigation at this time No PHOTOS for this Investigation at this time No VIDEOS for this Investigation at this time

"Devil's Toy Box" Experiment Location Information Date:14th April, 2013 Type:Residential Location Title:"Devil's Toy Box" Experiment City/State:Kansas City, MO Investigation Times:04:00 PM - 04:30 PM Status:Analysis Weather Information Sunrise:06:42 AM Sunset:07:55 PM High Temperature:73 °F Low Temperature:57 °F Sky Condition:Overcast Wind:SSW at 10 mph Humidity:76% Precipitation:% Lunar Phase:Waxing Crescent % disk visible:20% Solar X-Rays:Normal Geomagnetic Field:Quiet Pressure:29.55 mmHg Investigators Present Christina Anderson Jenny Kerr Becky Ray Jennifer Sprague Location History In continuing our experiments into techniques and gadgets used by other paranormal researchers, Bryan suggested we give the "Devil's Toy Box" a try. Joshua P. Warren first discussed this paranormal gadget on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory. According to Mr. Warren by taking six mirrors and facing them inwards to make a box, it will cause a back and forth energy loop. Allegedly after some time you could be hearing strange noises coming from the cube. Mr. Warren claims to hear growling and other weird noises have been reported coming from the mirror box. Investigators Notes Jenny Kerr:It was pretty quiet with this toy box. Becky Ray:In doing research into this project, several places claimed that the box built up activity the longer it sits, so I built it about a month before we conducted this experiment. What happened after I built the box? Absolutely nothing. When I attached the amplifier to the box to record EVP what happened? Absolutely nothing unexpected. In my opinion, the "Devil's Toy Box" is a waste of time and yet another bogus paranormal research tool. Jennifer Sprague:Over the centuries there have been tons of stories, legends and folklore surrounding mirrors and the supernatural. They've often been viewed by some as "portals" to other dimensions. And over the years many people have equated mirrors with having some sort of "supernatural" or "paranormal" ability giving them the "power" to possibly give us the ability to see into the future, trap the dead, release so called "demons" and so forth. It was even said at one time that mirrors should be turned to face the wall after a person has died because if left facing the deceased person their soul would be come lost. In my opinion the idea the "Devil's Toy Box" represents is no different than those folkloric stories. The idea that a "spirit" can be trapped inside a box simply because it has "mirrors" and giving those "mirrors" some sort of supernatural ability to be able to magically trap a "spirit" is no different than believing black cats are bad luck or any other sort of superstitious belief. We decided to test it out. Becky kept it a month prior to our group experiment to see if she could find any similarity in Mr. Warren's findings during our experiment. We found no similarities what so ever. No noises, no rattling, no growls, no words. Just the simple hum of the amplifier. No EVPs were found either. So it's my opinion that in our findings as a group during our experiment that there is no evidence to support that a "spirit" or "entity" can be "trapped" inside the "Devil's Toy Box." We look forward to continuing our experiments into techniques and gadgets used by other paranormal researchers as well creating and testing out new experiments as well. We will post our experiments on this page! Looking forward to the next one! :-) No EVPS for this Investigation at this time No PHOTOS for this Investigation at this time No VIDEOS for this Investigation at this time

The Tesla coil was the first system capable of transmitting electricity wirelessly. It was initially used in early radio antennas and telegraphy. However, different versions of the coil can also produce lightning bolts, send electric currents through the body, and generate electron winds. Tesla developed the coil in 1891 before conventional iron-core transformers were used to power lighting systems and telephone circuits. The concept behind the coil is fairly simple and uses electromagnetic force and resonance. LOCATION HISTORY John McInteer was born in Ireland in 1827 and came to the United States alone as a boy. He settled first in Philadelphia and later in Indiana, where he learned the trade of harness-making. Hearing of the opportunities in the West, he moved to Kansas in the early 1860s. First setting up home in Doniphan County, John McInteer started a small shop in Atchison where he manufactured harnesses and saddles. His products became known for their artistry, and he did a great amount of business with wagon trains plying the overland trails. His company was so successful that he had to enlarge his facilities and manufacture his products on a large scale. His company's wealth was invested in real estate in Atchison and nearby St. Joseph, MO. He also erected several business blocks in Atchison. The McInteer Villa is one of Atchison's most unique residences. It was built in 1889-1890 for John McInteer, a pioneer businessman from Atchison, KS. The large, impressive brick residence was constructed at an estimated cost of $14,000. The architect was not identified, but the builder was Owen E. Seip, a long-time Atchison contractor. John McInteer's first wife, Alice, died in 1892. He married his second wife, Anna Conlon, a widow with three sons, in 1895. After McInteer died in 1902, Anna continued living in the home until she died in 1916. During her ownership, the house was home to many Conlon relatives, including many children. From 1916 until about 1925, her brother, Judge Charles J. Conlon, a prominent Atchison lawyer, and his family made it their home. For the next 25 years, it was a rooming house. In 1952, the McInteer Villa was purchased by Ms. Isobel Altus, a retired professional violinist and an eccentric, according to her Atchison neighbors. She lacked the financial resources to follow through on her desire to restore the house, and in 1969, shortly before her death, she sold it to George Gerardy, who had started to rehabilitate it. The McInteer Villa is still one of the most unusual and picturesque houses built in Atchison. Becky strategically placed two puck lights in the second-floor hallway outside the breakroom and the library while Sarah positioned her tripwire between the puck lights. 4:30 P.M. – Lindsey arrived, followed by Edward and Christina 5:00 P.M. – Jennifer arrived, and we began talking about dinner plans. 6:00 P.M. – Greg and Beckie arrived, and we had dinner shortly afterward. 7:00 P.M. – Members took location photos outside the house before sunset while Greg, Beckie, and Lindsey set up Greg's quad-cam on the second floor, focusing on the library. 7:45 P.M. – Becky led the team on a walk-through once the stationary equipment setup was done because three members had never been to this location before. Once we returned to the dining room, Becky did a quick run-through of the investigation plan. We split into two teams of four and rotated locations, keeping one floor between the two teams. TEAM A – Becky, Edward, Lindsey, Sarah TEAM B – Christina, Greg, Beckie, Jennifer 8:10 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. – Team A started in the basement, and Team B started on the second floor. TEAM A 8:25 P.M. – We heard walking near the basement stairs and on the first floor above, where we sat in the boiler room. 8:26 P.M. – We heard the doorknob sensor on the library door, but Team B was on that floor, so we were not too concerned. 8:28 P.M. – Becky had placed a REM pod on the corner of the table when we sat in the boiler room; it triggered at this time. 8:30 P.M. – Becky's EMF detector was triggered to orange. 8:35 P.M. – Becky noticed that the hand-held video camera she had brought to the basement had turned off. Becky attempted to turn it back on, but it was turned off repeatedly. As she double-checked to ensure she did not have it on a timer, she realized it was switched over to still photos and would not allow her to reset it to video. The entire time we were in the basement, we could hear what we thought was the other team talking and someone walking around with heavy feet. We were told they were not moving around as much as we were hearing. TEAM B According to Jennifer, Team B spread out on the second floor. Jennifer was in the library, and Christina was at the end of the hallway near the stairway. Greg was by the doll room, and Beckie was in the primary bedroom. We stood silent for about 10 minutes and listened to the house and the atmosphere. During this time, most of them reported firsthand experiences. Christina thought she saw a shadow in the room to her right and felt uneasy in the hallway. When Beckie entered the library, she felt very uneasy. She reported a bad headache and stated that her ears were ringing. Jennifer suggested that Beckie step out of the library for a minute, so she did, and the ringing in her ears immediately stopped. Beckie then reentered the room and sat on the floor. While there, she reported a tall, shadow-like figure in the bathroom attached to the library. 9:00 P.M. - Team A moved to the first floor, and Team B moved to the attic. TEAM A 9:00 P.M. – We started our first-floor investigation in the Ladies Parlor, where the piano is located. 9:10 P.M. – Becky had a terrible headache hit her suddenly. She adjusted the headband holding her bodycam in case that was the cause, but it was not. Oddly, the headache went away as quickly as it started. 9:16 P.M. – We heard the motion detector on the second floor go off twice, although no one should have been on that floor. 9:30 P.M. – We moved into Goldie's room. Becky played a five-minute track of kittens meowing to get a reaction from Goldie or cat ghosts. TEAM B While in the attic, Greg and Christina reported seeing a low shadow movement by the attic door, like an animal or small child. Jennifer placed her motion detector in that area, but it was not triggered. Overall, they reported that the attic felt much lighter as a group than the second floor, and their energy was lighthearted and fun. 10:00 P.M. – We took a mid-investigation break, and Lindsey left to drive home. 10:20 P.M. – Team A moved to the second floor, and Team B moved to the basement. TEAM A 10:20 P.M. – We decided to start in the library since most of the activity seems to be there this evening. 10:26 P.M. – The library doorknob motion detector repeatedly was triggered. It was happening so much that we thought it might be a timed repeat, but there was no pattern. Sarah lowered the sensitivity of the alarm. 10:28 P.M. – Becky's EMF meter was next to her on the couch and triggered, followed quickly by the doorknob alarm. 10:30 P.M. – We talked about where we would sleep that night to try to trigger something in the room. Sarah mentioned she would be sleeping in the library, and we jokingly asked if whoever was there wanted to be her "big spoon" while she slept, which seemed to make the doorknob alarm go off. 10:39 P.M. – Sarah mentioned how she attempted automatic writing in the library the last time she was there, and the word "lies" kept coming up. She said she also had a feeling about Charles Donovan, who committed suicide in that room, and wondered if anyone else thought that. Becky noted that she has a hypothesis that Donovan may have been gay, as that fits with her research into him. As we discussed this, the cat toy on the table before us went off for the first time since we had been in the room. 10:45 P.M. – The hallway puck light beside the library door turned on. 10:50 P.M. – We moved from the library into the bedrooms across the hallway. 10:57 P.M. – The hallway puck light next to the library door lit up again, and the tripwire was activated in the area outside the library door. Edward mentioned that while we had the door closed, and he noticed the tripwire light up red under the door. 11:03 P.M. – The tripwire triggered green outside the library door. TEAM B According to Jennifer, they did not experience anything collectively while in the basement, but they had one motion-activated object go off. 11:05 P.M. – Team A moved to the attic, and Team B moved to the first floor. TEAM A 11:05 P.M. – We triggered a motion detector when we first got to the attic. We were unaware it had been placed there, so we moved away from it to the center couches and sat down to see what might happen. 11:15 P.M. – We heard the library doorknob alarm trigger twice while we were in the attic. No one should have been on the second floor. 11:17 P.M. – The library doorknob alarm triggered again. 11:19 P.M. – The library doorknob alarm triggered twice. 11:20 P.M. – The library doorknob alarm was triggered once. Sarah decided to start a timer to see if there was a pattern to the alarm, as maybe it was a setting rather than an actual alarm. We did not hear it again while we were in the attic. 11:44 P.M. – Becky and Edward heard a strange sound or voice from the corner of the attic. TEAM B 11:17 P.M.: They heard the library doorknob alarm go off multiple times while nobody was on the second floor. They did not experience anything of note on the first floor as a group. MIDNIGHT – We met in the dining room to discuss the evening's events and plans. 12:15 A.M. – Christina and Edward left to drive home. 12:30 A.M. – Becky started her basement sound experiment. Beckie, Christina, and Jennifer decided to watch the DVR cam during this time. They observed some moments of interest, which are 11:15 P.M. to 11:20 P.M. Jennifer also placed a mini-Tesla coil in the library and let it run for about five minutes. They then turned it off and observed the room. During this time, they reported a shift in the energy in the room. The door alarm sounded multiple times while closed. We have yet to determine the cause. 12:41 A.M. – Sarah reported hearing a loud noise. 12:42 AM – The doorknob alarm triggered. 12:58 A.M. – There was a spike from Sarah's tripwire outside the library door. 12:59 AM – The doorknob alarm triggered again. 1:10 A.M. – After Becky's Experiment, everyone gathered in the library, where we tried different things to see if we could accidentally trigger the doorknob alarm. We moved it from the hallway door to the door to the bathroom, and it continued to trigger there while we were looking at it, and we could not find a logical cause. Becky looked up reviews of the device to see if it was known to be overly sensitive, but the reviews stated the opposite – that it does not trigger easily. BECKY'S CONTINUING SOUND EXPERIMENT: I hypothesize that exposure to binaural sounds may increase the likelihood of experiencing paranormal hallucinations, as the complex auditory stimuli could potentially alter brainwave activity and perception in such a way that makes individuals more prone to interpreting everyday sensory input as supernatural phenomena. I did not have time to prepare her sounds for this experiment, so Becky used a YouTube video. "1000 Spirits - Awaken All (Warning - NOT for the novice) Hypnotic Meditation." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIUAOViBUrw I sat each participant down in the same basement room, gave them a blackout eye mask, and then had them put on headphones to listen to the recording. When each was done, Becky asked them about their experiences. Greg – Felt very disoriented. Sarah – Said she could feel the sound in her entire body and felt like her legs were touched toward the end. She also mentioned that she could see music and thought she heard voices near the end. She said she felt like something was happening upstairs, which may have been because the doorknob alarm went off a few times during her session. Jennifer – Said it made her feel calm, but she consciously tried to send out love as she listened. She wanted to do that, and she was never uneasy while listening. She said she closed her eyes under the mask, and while her eyes were closed, she saw a red dot on her right side. Also, as she listened, she envisioned herself outside of this room, thinking about animals, friends, family, and former pets. Previous Investigations at this Location: McInteer Villa - Atchison, KS McInteer Villa, Visit 2 - Atchison, KS

Come to the Main Street Galleria and check them out for yourself. Below is their stories. One of the most famous ghosts is Captain James D. McCardy, of the 7th Cavalry in Richmond, Virginia of the Confederate Army during the Civil War. His writing desk bearing his name is on display in the Galleria. The name plate on the desk, bears the Captain's name and the date 1861, Richmond Virginia. When the owner of Main Street Galleria purchased the Civil War era writing desk, she did not know that she had acquired more than just the desk. The ghost of Captain McCardy came with it. The Captain enjoys playing tricks on people, electricity turning on and off. The front door dead bolt unexpectedly locking during business hours. Many of the ladies feel his presence with unexplained goose bumps. Beno and Creola The building which houses Main Street Galleria was originally built in 1897. Beno and Creola Hillix originally owned the building. They lived upstairs and ran a pharmacy, soda fountain, and sold a variety of items on the main floor. The kids of Weston would come to the soda fountain and talk and have fun. Beno would stand at the pinball machine, smoke cigarettes and keep an eye on the kids. Once in awhile we smell the cigarette smoke, right where Beno stood at the pinball machine. Creola talks to us now and then, she seems worried about who is going and coming. Investigators Notes Jenny Kerr:With an electrical storm earlier in the day and the supermoon expected, the combination made for an interesting night EVP wise. Great hospitality by Carol our overseer, Thank You! The Galleria was a great little building with an interesting history on the Hillix's. We started with a brief history and a tour of the building with Carol. On the conclusion of the tour we began our first EVP session upstairs in the Tea Room. Upon play back we heard an interesting "bell tone" sound as Becky asked her regular cliche question of "If you want us to leave make a noise". To our human ears there was no sound, to the digital recorders microphone there was an audible "bell tone". After reviewing the first session we proceeded downstairs to the Soda/Ice Cream Shop area for an EVP session. Once completed we returned upstairs to the Tea Room where we once again reviewed the digital recorder for any voices. A few whispers and a response was heard, but during the review Becky was the lucky one to see a shadow person walk down the hallway which was too my back. (If only I had eyes in the back of my head!) A break ensued from reviewing and off the girls went to find the shadow person. During the hunt digital recorders were recording and a distinct gravely woman's voice was recorded telling us where she may be. I personally did not experience any phenomena nor did I get any ghostly spectors on my digital camera. We hope to have these few EVP's posted in the near future for your review and comments. Becky Ray:Both Jenny and Jennifer have covered the events of this investigation wonderfully! Due to computer issues. EVPS are not able to be uploaded at this time. Jennifer Sprague:Special thanks to the owners for allowing us to come out there! On this investigation I used an emf detector and was note taker for the group. There were no noticeable emf spikes that could not be explained during this investigation. However, we did have numerous e.v.p. sessions and during these sessions we did pick up some interesting e.v.p.'s. The interesting thing is that these e.v.p.'s that were captured also correlate to the discussions that we were having at the time. Also, at one point Becky noticed what appeared to be somebody standing in the hallway that quickly moved out of her site and down a hallway. Upon checking the area after the occurrence we could not detect any change in the area with our equipment however it's important to note that I, and a few others present, heard noise at the same time Becky mentioned that she had thought she had seen someone, but none of us saw anybody at the time.It was not possible for it to be anybody else in Tea Room because everyone was accounted for at that time. These e.v.p.'s are all in the process of being reviewed and uploaded to the site and they should be up as soon as possible. I look forward to going back and investigating this area and other surrounding it! Established in 1959, the Jackson County Historical Society continues to preserve the 1859 Jail Museum located in Independence, Missouri. To truly unlock the history of the jailers and their families who lived in the residence and the criminals who occupied the jail cells, we recommend a walk through the old lockdown and a stroll through the front house. You can see the cell where Frank James lived for six months, the home where jailers and county deputy marshals lived, the office of the Jackson County marshal, and touch the mighty limestone and tremendous iron doors guarding each cell. In 1958, a used building materials dealer nearly got permission to demolish the brick home, limestone jail, and brick cell block addition. The dealer would get the right to claim the salvaged stone, brick, and timber as the price for his work. The abandoned buildings were given a new lease on life when a group of civic-minded citizens at the Jackson County Historical Society stepped in. They realized that there was yet another historical role for the two-story house and the jail hidden from street view at the corner of Main Street and what is now Truman Road. The jail was constructed in 1859 using a design by Asa Beebe Cross, a notable early architect in Kansas City, Missouri. The third Jackson County jail constructed consisted of a home for the jailer, an office for the county marshal and his staff, and twelve limestone jail cells. A brick structure was added to the rear of the original jail in 1907 to house chain gangs who worked on roads, sewers, and other public projects. Jackson County built the jail and home for $11,844.20 in 1859--the 2013 equivalent of $325,893.07. CE-5 Experiment Location Information Date:14th August, 2015 Type:Residential Location Title:CE-5 Experiment City/State:Liberty, MO Investigation Times:08:00 PM - 12:00 AM Status:Analysis Weather Information Sunrise:06:28 AM Sunset:08:14 PM High Temperature:86 °F Low Temperature:66 °F Sky Condition:Clear Wind:SSE at 1 mph Humidity:100% Precipitation:% Lunar Phase:New Moon % disk visible:0% Solar X-Rays:Active Geomagnetic Field:Storm Pressure:30.14 mmHg Investigators Present Tania Marg Becky Ray Lisa Sperry Jennifer Sprague Miranda Stark Location History CE-5 is a term describing a fifth category of close encounters with Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI), characterized by mutual, bilateral communication rather than unilateral contact. There are those who hypothesize that spirit communication and communication with ETI are one and the same. Investigators Notes Jennifer Sprague:This was our first time attempting this experiment. Although we did see some interesting things, we were able to explain what they were. Most of what we saw were planes, satellites, and space stations. We did have an interesting occurrence where we saw some odd reddish colored lights and could not say for sure what they were. It turns out that upon Becky's research, there may be a strong possibility that what we saw may have been the " Aurora Lights." These lights naturally occur from time to time. I really look forward to attempting this experiment again. I'm all for sending some positivity out into the Universe and I'm curious to see if we can find anything we cant explain. Miranda Stark:CE-5 is a phrase belonging to Dr. Steven Greer of the CSETI organization. The term simply means "Close Encounter of the 5th Kind" which is communication, specifically consciousness. Objective: Asking otherworldly or extra-dimensional entities for a sign of their presence, by means of telepathic thought communication, achieved through intense meditation by a circle of sitters whom send messages of peace, and non-harmful intent. This is then followed by studying the surrounding sky and nearby environment for signs of interaction. Start Time: Approximately 9:30 PM We had a strong group of sitters for this exercise. We began with 10 minutes of silent, inner-personal (individual) meditation, aided by candles and incense burning using herbs specially chosen for our protection. In closing the meditation, we observed a few anomalies in the dark, night sky. The first being a series of bright flashes of light off in the north-eastern horizon. These flashes occurred sporadically, in no particular rhythmic order, and lasted about two to three minutes total. They began in a white color, but eventually took on a sort-of red hue. We are still looking into natural or man-made causes for these flashes. A few members reported sighting of solid lights moving across the sky, then fading out and disappearing from sight. These should not be confused for shooting stars, because a number of these were seen by all present throughout the night. At one point we all watched a particular light moving across the sky, and later determined this to be a sighting of the International Space Station. Otherwise, no major events were observed or recorded. There are plans to follow up with repeated experiments of this nature in the future.
